Frank Sur is a partner in the Calgary office of Gowling WLG, practising in the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, corporate commercial law, and energy law.
He has extensive experience in the following areas:
  • Public and private financings (equity, debt and venture capital)
  • Asset purchase and divestitures (primarily in oil and gas, manufacturing and technology sectors)
  • Mergers and acquisitions of both public and private companies (plans of arrangement, going private transactions, share acquisitions, take-over bids and asset purchase and sale agreements)
  • Advising on oil and gas exploration, production and operation-related agreements (joint operating agreements, production sharing agreements, royalty agreements, farm-in agreements and joint venture agreements)
  • Advising on listing and exchange compliance matters, and corporate governance and regulatory compliance
Fluent in Korean, Frank has represented a number of Korean-based companies - as well as numerous international companies based in China and other parts of Asia - in various transactions over the years. Having advised on a large number of cross-border transactions, he has represented many international companies on financings, and asset and share acquisitions and divestitures, particularly in the oil and gas industry.
